In the process of rigging 4529 and will need a mast.  It was suggested that I reach out to this group to see if there are some Proctor D's laying around.  I'm in So Cal.  If you have any other rigging items you would like to get off your bench I'd be interested in that as well.

I also need a mast ram and some blocks to set up a shroud purchase system fitting the age of my boat.

Another gent from across the pond suggested I look for a "fairly new" bent mast and bend it back... Is this a possiblility?

I have a post going on my project on Dinghy Anarchy if you are interested.

Bill,

Let me know what else you find.  I can sell you one of my old ones.  Maybe come over this weekend to have a look.

Hey Bill -
Here is a thought.  I have a recently re-rigged fully sailable Ballenger 505 (hull number 6300 or so) that I'd be willing to sell cheap.  You could transfer the parts you need to your hull.  The Ballenger has a Procter D (rerigged for the "new" long luff spinnaker), all new Harken blocks and cleats, a set of good sails (Ullman Technora jib, Glaser Technora main and Glaser long-luff spinnaker), a trailer with sand dolly and a new acrylic cover.  It has a harken ball bearing mast ram, the spiro fitting for the automatic pole launcher and a tapered aluminum spinnaker pole.  Most of the lines are new too, good-quality high tech stuff like spectra and vectran.
Anyway, I'm asking $2,500 for the boat, trailer, etc.  I think you'll find the parts alone will add up to well more than that.

I'm in San Diego by the way.  Feel free to call or email me.

Gary that sounds like a hell of a deal. I wish I was in a position to grab it up..  guys are always complaining there are no affordable 5oh's .  I bet you can sell that easy offering it on this group or the american 505 website.

Tanks for the offer,

Bill Raff

Bill,

I'm on track to be in San Diego this Saturday or Sunday. Still interested in a mast?
