Horizontal Palette Window

I seem to recall that it is possible to place the drag bar of a
palette window on the left, in order to make horizontal palette
windows. However, I cannot find any reference to this, either if/how,
in 4D docs or in the archives of the NUG. Does anyone recall how to
modify the palette window number, 1984, to make the drag/title bar

Christopher,
Methinks you will have to open up the database with the version of 4D that
it works with (i.e. whatever version it was that allowed this lunacy), fix
it by moving the data into related tables, and then upgrade to 2004.
What version was it?

I am in the process of updating a very old 4D database to run properly
under 4D 2004. Apparently, when it was written, it was possible to
create a subtable of a subtable of a table, and the designers took
advantage of this. These sub-subtables were referenced by using
apostrophes ([Table]Subtable'Sub-Subtable' Sub-Subfield), the same way

Yes I know it is a old version but............

I would like to be able to start 4D Bcakup in mirror mode, In the 4D
Backup Reference Manual for version 6.7 on page 86 it states:

You can also double-click the project file to launch 4D Backup in
Mirror mode and start the mirroring process.

There are no transactions.
There are no calls to SEND VARIABLE
There are two calls SEND PACKET - one for the Log file and one for the
Profile file. Each of those are created anew daily at Zero dark, hence the
existence of thousands of file over a 2+ year time span.

Nothing..nada...zip..
It ³looks² completely empty...we had no idea anything was there until we
started copying the main folder...at fist I thought these were log
files..they ARE created and are visible...But it turned out there were only
10,000 or so log files...nothing that the 5.4 MILLION + that the system had

I'm not certain...I don't know if this particular app calls any
transactions. I could check.

What else is in the Extras folder (things that are supposed to be there and
are not invisible)?

We have a standalone application that works in conjunction with our server

I've been very happy with 2004.6r2 and have seen no reason to go
to the latest 2004.7r3 release, but others have reported it as very
good as well. Others may chime in, and you might ask this on the
official tech list as well.

We are upgrading our app from 4d v6 to 4d 2004. In your opinion,

I am relatively new to 4D. We have an app written in 4D v6 and are
planning on upgrading to 2004 before upgrading completely to v11. My
question is, which release of 2004 do you consider to be the most
stable?
