There's a happy medium between list moderation and spam; just don't allow
non-members to post. All of my lists are run that way. We don't get spam.

Heh. If you're volunteering to moderate all these messages, yeah, I
might be into it. :)
Yeah, thing is, this is really one of the half dozen reasons why I'd
like to move things over to the message board. I get that folks like
the email list functionality of this, but it's becoming a bit much for
me to monitor (and moderating each post? That's a lot of work).
I'm interested in looking at a way to transition out of my "owning"
this list, and being able to pass it on to other folks who would like
to do more with it. My attention is increasingly going to be on the
"Official" board, but I do want to make sure anyone who continues to
participate in this group can have and enjoy it as long as they like.
If anyone here is a seasoned Google Group admin who wants to help
spearhead the effort, I'm all ears. I love that this community is so
strong and enthusiastic, and it would be worthwhile to ensure it gets
tended in a way that pleases the folks who've built it.
Thoughts?
Maybe if everyone knew they could report offensive/o.t./illegal
messages and have them acted on, there'd be less outcry for moderation.
I appreciate this group and your work to support it.
