There are a plethora of timers/clocks/stopwatches, etc. for Windows --
before I download and try dozens of them, any recommendations for a
*simple* timer for doing work "sprints" and reminders for checking
email (I only check every two hours)... easy to use, multiple timers
is all I need...

You don't use Outlook, I take it. I find that snoozing a reminder is pretty effective. Are you always at your PC or would a multi-alarm watch cover more situations for you ?

I'm not an Outlook user-- I'm actually interested in both solutions...
PC and not (one for home, one for work).

Hi Chris,

for checking e-mails only every 2 hours:
how about configuring your e-mail client to download mails only every
2 hours?
If you e-mail client also has the option to notify you of incoming
mail, it would remind you with this notification if there had been any
new mail in the last 2 hours.

I've been using MadDash (http://www.bignose.ca/maddash/), which is
based upon the (10 + 2) x 5 hack (http://www.43folders.com/2005/10/11/
procrastination-hack-1025/). It has really helped me focus on tasks,
and gives me incentive to keep going even when you don't want to.

You can run multiple instances of it, so i guess you could use it for
reminders as well, but it's not really what it was designed for.

I'm really surprised that this thread hasn't gotten more responses. Since
it hasn't, I'll throw out "Tea Timer"
(http://www.tucows.com/preview/410043). I'm not going to say that it's the
greatest thing since sliced bread but it is simple and it does work well.

The timer I usually use is actually on my Pocket PC. Spb time. Really
nice, simple yet versatile timer.
