Hi Taff,
hi Montyman,
although I always appreciate your (Taff) advise this time you do not
help MontyMan at all.
His crucial problem is the file-naming of his photo-realistic
textures. Under ,,materials/my model'' or paintbucket you find files
like
DSC00518.JPG
DSC00521.JPG
and more
Months ago we had already long discussions about this topic in this
group and I believe SketchUp Guide Tommy has put the result into FAQ
or even the helpcenter.
You MUST NOT use capital letters for file-extensions. Gateway-
servers will mess up those files
8.3 is not a must but helpfull
blanks should be avoided but do not realy cause problems within
my personal experience.
MontyMan, just rename your personal photos you used for your house to
lower-case file-extensions, erase first-floor ceiling - it is
unimportant - and your model will look fine in GoogleEarth.
But as a good practice for the future you should try to additionally
downsize your file. It will pay out when you start modelling bigger
houses with more complex structures. I did not see how big your pics
for the wall-textures are - but they should not have more than 20 k.
For a rather simple construction (I apologize for this expression) 328
k is a little bit too much. I bet you can bring it down to 200 k after
one or two nights of experimenting.
Much fun
Wolfgang
