When will the next competition start? And what is that competition?

Well, sense Google just had a HUGE competition including $25,000 USD, I would say not for a while. They may have one in July, like the Building Maker Competition. But, if they have one of these smaller competition, the prizes would be much smaller (I got a T-Shirt since I got 2nd place and Nurzain got first and he got a camera.) But I don't know what they will do. $25,000  is A LOT of money, so I would not expect another competition for a while. :) -Gravitar

Yes. I know you placed the 2nd place. But I think the price you got was not enough (they have to give you a good prize.). The third place only got a mug. Becoming in to the first 3 in a competition is not easy. Well, this was my first competition and I was very excited. And didn't the other finalists of this year's MYT competition got any prize?

Hi Keshan,

I was a finalist in this year's MYT competition. My prize was being a finalist in such a large competition. Everyone who entered, the finalists and the winner(s) will recieve a special badge for their warehouse page. The competition was a lot of fun, the quality of the work was high and the voting brought attention to Geo Modeling in my town in a way that had never happened before. Even my dentist was impressed! He said to me ( after seeing a local news story on it) " I didn't even know there was 3D in Google Earth" So it is all good. I never got involved in this to make money. I am glad that all the prize money is going to a local school in Getaria.. it will do a lot of good for a school.

Yes, I saw your models. They were great. This year's MYT competition was better than the past years. So I voted every finalists =) And did you got that MYT badge? I participated the competition but didn't got the badge. And I'm waiting for another competition to participate :) Do you know when will the other competition start?

You certainly warranted being in the top 5 for sure and could have easily won on a different day.
