Phototextures aren't showed in Google Earth

Hey guys,

When I want to see how my model's looking in Google Earth, I get a strange thing: the phototextures aren't being showed. They're just a grey plane.

The upper picture is how my model looks in SketchUp, and the lower: so looks my model in Google Earth. I already tried to re-install Google Earth, it was useless. 

By other models that I downloaded from the 3D Warehouse is it just so.

Hi Corfu,

I've seen the problem and have figured out how to fix it. In your Tools > Options... > 3D View tab, select Direct X. Then click apply, ok and restart Google Earth. You should see the textures. Then, you can switch back to Open GL using the same Options dialog, and when you restart Google Earth, you should see the textures.

Hi Craig,

That changed worked for me a few months ago.

But with the latest version of GE it stopped working and the mode change does not fix it.

Hi Peter, can you tell me what version number your on, what your graphics card manufacturer is, and whether you're using DirectX or OpenGL?

Hi Craig,

I am on Google Earth 7.1.1.1580 (beta), Dell PC, Windows 8 Pro, ATI Radeon HD 5670, DirectX (but same symptom with OpenGL).

You can see in the attached screen shot the model is in gray to the left of the About window.

GE beta seems fine running on my MacBook Air.

I'm seeing similar results. The switch trick worked only for a short time, and now I don't see textures.

Only models from 3D Warehouse's "View in Google Earth" and SketchUp's "Preview Model in Google Earth" show up gray. Models from the "3D Buildings" layer appear normal in Google Earth.

Hi, I too have the same problem with Direct X or Open GL I get gray textures, the only solution to save the 3D model in GE,  and restart. Textures return except Textures PNG.???

I'm also getting this problem now. Occurs in my work computer and also my home computer.
