Thanks,
Helen
The limit isn't on either of those two stats; it's on the triangulated
KMZ geometry, which isn't accessible from within SketchUp. If you
haven't used very many components, you're probably only off by 50% or
so; if you've used tons of components you could be off by a factor of
ten. (Post a model link, and I'll go take a look, if you like.)

Thanks for offering to take a look at it. Here is the link:
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=a0c0fea278dc8d4698d57721771a77f9
If the link breaks the model it's called "Clavell Tower Folly, Kimmeridge,
Dorset".
I've already replaced the columns and central clover-shaped cutouts with
lower poly count versions (they were grouped and copied but I've made them
components now). I still have to do the topmost clovers but hopefully that
should do it. There's some geometry in the basement of the posted version
that I've also already cleared out. I would have deleted the posted version
already but you wanted to have a look.
This is the first time I've done something cylindrical and it's been a real
education. The education being don't do it again! Lol!
Thanks again,
Helen
