Toggle Building Maker Background?

Could background image be toggled and view be rotated?
Rather than just relying on the images, once the basic shape is made,
I think a lot of free-form sculpting could be done without a
background.

If model is accepted and then I refine it, is it automatically updated
onto the Earth?
