Metal Gear Solid on the PSX is simply amazing. A work of art.
Getting sick of all these eye candy FPS PC games that have no gameplay
whatsoever. This and Grand Turismo is what the Voodoo 2 game library needs.

please... It <is> a fun game, but it's essentially Resident Evil set against
a post-cold war spy story.

Oh man!!! Are you serious!?!? I have played RE1 and 2 and NO WAY
is it comparable to MGS as far as gameplay and pretty much everything that's
important in a game is concerned. EVERYTHING is rendered. Notice how you can
look anywhere whereas RE has prerendered backgrounds, limiting where you can
go and see, plus it has a first person view. This game has revolutionary
gameplay. Goes way beyond what Goldeneye accomplished as far as the whole
spying/stealth/black ops/espionage thing. Very intelligent game (AI). And
the story is a Hollywood action movie that makes 007 movies look like cheesy
B Cinemax movies with naked girls running around shooting uzis. If this game
was made for the Voodoo 2, running at a higher res and smoothing out those
pixelated textures, I'd be in heaven. Maybe that Pyske program might work.

this is like saying Quake is essentially Castle Wolfenstein set in outer
space......

the object of Metal Gear Solid is COMPLETELY different than Resident
Evil.........

(if you've played through the game, you'll know what I mean - it's actually
a bad thing in MGS to kill everything you see)

If that's what you think, you are not living on Earth.

The playstation, may have lots of games and good fps, but christ the
graphics are sooooo terrible compared to the latest PC games with 3D
accelerators. I know the new playstation is coming out soon, but the old one
is past it sell by date.

Most racing games look atrocious on a PSX. For instance, MotoRacer 2's
Amazon track gives me a skull-fucking headache not to mention it's almost
impossible to distinguish the trees, ground, and track. Rage Racer looks
pathetic, etc ...

For PSX games, I stick with fighting and puzzle games. There are still many
great games that haven't been translated to PC.

regards.

That's where the emulator comes in. :) Anyone tried it with Teken2?

My pet peeve with it is that it (MGS) is so DAMN SHORT! One weekend
game, tops. But those few hours with it are very entertaining, though.
But just thinking that this is probably the most anticipated game for
two years (at least in Playstation, besides maybe FFVII) and then it
is over in a few hours... I'm sure I'll be playing Halflife much
longer than MGS.
