Hello Everyone,

It seems that LB group is not active as the way it was...grp owner has been blocked all the mails probably....

Guys if you have another similar group for LB or LP, please share with us.

Thanks,
Manish Gupta

Its not that mails are blocked, they get delayed in reaching your inbox. Probably because moderator is approving each mail after reading it.

Thanks ,

Hi Mohit

Yes for Last 2 weeks there was a  delay in mails . because there was some issue in google groups because of that i was not able to approve the mails.

Someone raised the point that i should not moderate the mail and should allow each and every mail in the group.then here is my explanation for this

1. I moderate the mails to remove the  mails regarding buy/sell. and the mail which are not related to lotus boulevard.

2. I want this forum to be a place to discuss only about lotus boulevard.

3. I don't want this forum to be a discussion place for property dealers where there are advertising about their properties.

4.You might have seen in last 1-2 years that in this group you are actually getting the content related to to Lotus boulevard only. Daily i am getting 4-5 spam mails in this group.which i am removing from the distribution list.

5. Even i blocked 10-15 members from the group who tried to post spam in this group inspite of continuous warning.

So its upto all of you members of this group to decide whether you want this forum to be a neat and clean place to discuss LB. or you want anyone to divert the topics and spoil the sanctity of the group.

Your views are welcome.

Regards
Naresh

Hi,

I totally support Naresh in this role. I am myself a moderator of a
few other groups, and thus understand the importance of moderation of
posts. I am sure members of the group would not want flooding of
emails from brokers and other agencies.

Thanks Naresh and other moderators for ensuring the group is kept clean.

Moderation to my understanding is required to allow members to become a part of the group. All filters and check need to be in place, when people are enrolling themselves in the forum.

From thereon, members should be allowed to communicate freely, without any moderation or scanning of emails.

Going forward, there can be a bias not to allow people to communicate their views.

So guys have checkins at enrollment stage and not after that.

Pls change these settings.

Let me tell you Naresh that you are doing a commendable job in keeping the group clean of all the spammers.

My only concern is what if you are out for some time, not able to check your emails and there is no one to moderate the messages. Members of the group may miss out on something that may require urgent attention say e.g. a group meeting or meeting with 3C in such a situation.

As far as keeping spammers at bay is concerned, you can simply bump them off the mailing list after giving a warning or two. This way every spammer out there would be aware that there is a 'real' moderator at work here.

Thus my 2 cents on keeping the group mails open as far as posting messages is concerned, though I don't have any strict opinion about this.

Thanks,
Mohit Arora

Hi Naresh,
You are doing a commendable job it's really not easy to take out time from your regular routine and play the role of a moderator.

I completely agree with your views.

Sudeep

Agree with Mohit's suggestion.

Naresh, it will also save your time.

And I don't think our fellow members would mind a spam mail once in a while as long as spammer is warned and is bumped out if he keep on repeating it.

Kudos for taking this initiative and investing your time to ensure that the group is clean.

Thanks,
- Gauraw

Hi Naresh.

My one cent...

I feel the access level can be set so that only members can post and
any member who is posting spam should be removed from the group...
which you seem to be doing diligently ever since... And it really
shows with no spams in our group... We can have more than one
moderator in case spam is really a big issue here.

Responses from members should not be moderated as everyone here should
be able to express their views to others within the group.

For a person like me, who is sitting in Bangalore this group does a
great job in keeping me up to date with the insights / happenings /
stories etc... I would like to get regular emails in this group as I
have a log way to go for my possession which is in March 2013 for
tower # 25.

But those ladies/lotteries/job-offers are not members of this group and hence are filtered out in the beginning itself. Group settings says "only members can post" :).

I agree with Gaurav. If only the group members to post, it should solve the issue.

Filtering is good but not at the expense of free flow of Information.
