I'm going to email those involved also but I wanted to post that I'm
not available to help with the demos this weekend (2/18 and 2/19). I
encourage any group member to help out. It's great fun and the kids
are excited (and well behaved).
Maybe instead of New England RepRap and MakerBot Boston we should have
picked a more generic title with "3D Printing" in the title. :)
I wish I'd known you guys were presenting on the weekend - I'd have
loved to stop down. Not sure about my schedule for the weekend but
maybe I'll see you at one of these. I printed out and built a Prusa
Mendel (iteration 2) for the museum and gave it to them this Tuesday.
It still needs an extruder, but during the 2:30pm shows they're
basically using them as non-functioning props anyway so I figured I'd
add that for them after the 3 weeks was up.
I'm hosting a 3D printing party at my house in Methuen, MA on Sunday
February 26th, from 11am-5pm (we've got at least twelve people coming,
with 5-8 RepRaps printing. We'll order pizza mid-day and just have an
excuse to print all day and see each others' printers. Anyone who is
interested in coming, let me know. I'd love to meet more people from
the area who are into printing.
I've attended Makerfaire NY two years in a row now and this year I
plan on bringing at least one RepRap.
p.s. I and my friend Chris built Makerbot #325, which I used to print
the parts to my Sells Mendel (which I used to print the parts to my
Prusa Mendel IT2 and the Prusa Mendel IT2 that I gave to the MoS).
Hope to meet some of you at the museum!

Unless the rest of my work day here goes totally pear-shaped, it's looking like I may be able to make it in tomorrow, the 18th, at around 1:30 or 2:00..

If you do, here's a bit of free advice - that huge hanging monitor
thing actually has a control they can easily push to make it go up and
down. Ask them to raise it. :) I swung around too quick behind the
table today and smashed my head into the bottom of the thing and got a
huge gash on my head - lots of blood. Poor Danbee, she was blaming
herself (it was all my fault). Didn't find out that it could be
adjusted until later though. Doh.
Don't think I can make it in this weekend. Have fun!

I banged my head 2x the first time I was there. I also didn't know it
moved. little blood but it hurt. sorry, but sorta glad to see it
wasn't only me (as I'm feeling the dent in my head).
Actually, I want to find out who else wants to join me this upcoming
Saturday (the 25th).
I just recovered from a cold and feel great but my voice is destroyed,
It might be fine for Saturday, but if it isn't, I'm not going to make
a very good presenter.

At some point Saturday I'll stop by briefly to pick up the RepRap I
made for the Museum (so I can finish it.. they're more useful with
endstops and, oh, an extruder). Maybe I'll run into some of you -
always good to meet people in person!
They're sounding like the schedule is pretty full for Saturday afternoon and are interested in other times. If anybody has other slots in the schedule, you might consider dropping by and presenting. Chris

This morning, I got an email from Julia asking if my students and I could come in. She sounded like anything ***other than Saturday afternoon*** would be great. We're on break, so I don't have daily access to the students. I gave a sheet with contact info last week and left it up to them to work out. Chris
