Introductions, DCM Invitation, and More!

Hello My Fellow Purple Penguins!

If you don't already know, my name is Larry Zhang and I am serving as Division 34 South's Lieutenant Governor for the 2012-2013 term. I am EXTREMELY excited for this upcoming year as we aspire to grow towards new levels of service and spirit. In this email, I have attached an introduction letter for those who are interested in wanting to knowing me better and I hope to meet all of you in the near future!

As the new term begins, I would like to invite each and every one of you to the May DCM on May 19th at Henry M. Gunn High School (780 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, CA 94306), from 4-6 p.m. At this DCM, we will be having a couple of speakers talking about different opportunities for service projects and ways to improve the ties between sponsoring Kiwanis clubs and Key Clubs. I hope that the information you learn at this DCM will help you better improve your experiences in and understanding of Key Club! All members and officers are cordially welcome to come!

For those of you who are interested in applying for the Executive Assistants and the News Editor positions, I will be releasing the applications to the reflector after they are finalized, hopefully before the DCM. Remember, only underclassmen (incoming sophomores and juniors) are allowed to apply for Executive Assistant positions but the News Editor position is open to anyone!

Finally, Kiwanis Special Games is coming up soon. At Kiwanis Special games, we will be helping our respective Kiwanis clubs hold a "Special Olympics" event for children with special needs. The stories and individual moments are truly inspiring and ones you will DEFINITELY never forget. This year, there will be over 900 participants so please ask your friends to join in on this *life changing* event! It will be held at Mission College on May 18th from 8 a.m. to around 1 p.m. Free pizza and a free T-shirt will be provided by our sponsoring Kiwanis clubs. Please sign up with your presidents by this Monday! Because you will be missing school, please notify your school's attendance office. Ask your club presidents about any attendance policies your school may have. Also, please carpool to this event because parking is limited at the site.
