I want to know if anyone has had this oroblem and gotten it fixed?

One channel on one cablebox keeps comming up as ""channel not avaible
try again later".

The rest of the channels are fine. In fact on a second box the channel
giving the problem comes in fine.

I have tried the fixes given me by email and did not fix it.

On the phone I was told that the channel giving the problem is very
week. But it is fine on the other box,

The person on the phone was not the most pleasent and her view that I
needed a technition to come to the house, seems to me to be just a
statement of her ability.

Well did you try replacing the cables connected to the box with new
ones? they *do* wear out you know.

BTW if you don't rent that converter from them, you're lucky to get
any help at all.

The cables wear out only for one channel, I don't think so.

I do rent it from them or I would not get any help.

Then their advice (Unlike Chuckcars' madness) seems appropriate. A
technician will come out and if the box is faulty, replace it. That's
usually what rental is all about.

Return it for a replacement if you are renting it.

I guess no one has had this problem. Since the cabel co has it in
there FAQ I thought that I might hear from someone.

If the Cable Office is near you, suggest bringing the problem box in and
request an exchange.

Well, given the fact that WebTV is your "computer" of choice, and your
horrible spelling, and some weak sentence construction issues that you
have in this post, I'd say she had a point, although she has no right to
be rude with you, if that's what happened.

Other than that, try resetting the box, (power cycle it first and then
reset it), to make sure that any preferences stored are removed and
force it to re-acquire settings from the source server.

And since you did not provide any details of what kind of a cable box
this is or its brand, it is impossible to give you step by step
instructions to help you.

Yes.

A "weak" channel will be attenuated further for every splitter it has
to pass through. Try that box (and channel) at the entry point of
the cable to the house.

Another solution is to get an amplifier ($).

Apparently they were worth every penny ...

That just might be worth it to you if that channel is one you watch
all the time.

So, how many splitters and how many TV's and do you have any filters?

There are three TV's but only two Boxes. The box with the problem has
one splitter. The box that works has two splitters. The channel that
is "weak" is an HBO channel. Four other HBO's are fine.

wall--splitter--box1--tv Problem on HBO (not using SAP?)
\--splitter--box2--tv no problem
\-- TV (with QAM tuner one assumes)

has box1 been reset by the cable provider?
