It's WTEM 980 in Washington DC and when I click the link
my MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC opens up, and then says that
it "cannot render the file". Any tips to listen to this?
Thank You
LEESA (I)
I found a playlist online for WTEM that contained three URLs. There
were all the same, with the exception of the port number. You can open
this URL in winamp:
http://208.80.52.80:80/WTEMAMCMP3
I don't know if it's what you want, but they were blathering on about
sports.
www.wtem.com
then pick out what you want directly
many times the embedded applications won't work because of the script on
that site.

You should start by announcing your OS version and your browser and how
it is configured regarding script management, ie javascript.
www.radio-locator.com is a radio locator site which provides you with
the link you posted above when your browser exercises the javascript
found at the site for requesting WTEM AM 980 link.
WTEM AM 980's site is at http://www.espn980.com/ and it has a - Listen
live - function in the upper left of the screen, which is this link
http://sports.espn.go.com/stations/player?station=dc
... which sets off another round of javascript to exercise the player
such as flash and the podcast.
What happens when you go to that site and click that link?

Perhaps if we knew what specific station (and city/zip code) you tried
to listen to and whether you have tried updating to the latest codec
package for whatever operating system you're running you might actually
get an answer. But without that information, We're not going to randomly
try every single radio station in the US on the remote possibility that
we have the exactly same codecs installed as you do.

CtS, you are blind. How do you manage to create posts without
your eyesight?

Maybe his screen-reader was looking for the zip code and became
confused! How about 20001? That should help him provide a truly good
answer... :-)
Oh, remember: which codec one uses *depends* on the zip code!

I give him credit for having two working synapses. That should be good
enough to take a step or two...

Hey, that might be a good one for the Chuckcar non-sequitur file:
Q: What codec do I need to play this media file?
A: What ZIP code do you live in?
:-)

Heehee. Are you keeping a database of these? Be sure to use something
that permits millions of records... ;-)

Hey! That's tag line material!
