I'm losing it. Plain and simple. I've lost weight, but meanwhile, I
feel tired, depressed and BORED. Mostly bored. I have no interest in
doing anything.

This is day 6. I need to hear from someone that has made it through -
tell me - is it going to get easier?

I've done 3 and boredom is always an issue. It seems I can't get
anything done while doing the detox which is annoying. It does get
better or maybe its just that I get used to it. Either way I always
find it worth it when all is said and done.

Dear Phil,
I'd like you to read your post from yesterday. You said you were
empowered - you felt proud of yourself (after business lunch). Those
are not boring feelings! Keep going - you've already come so far. In
fact - you are already a third of the way finished (or very close to
that).

You will get in the habit. I guarantee if you do the coffee enema you
will find that burst of energy. I'm doing on this morning and cant
wait for a super productive day. So far 1/3 of my house has been
completely de-cluttered. Living room - done. Bedroom - check. dining
room - finished. Junk closet - clickaroo, Kids play room?????? eye yi
yi yi yi - that may take a miracle but I'm working on it and making
progress. Today I may clean the gutters, tackle the garage. I've
already made one trip to Goodwill and I have more than enough stuff
for a second trip.

I'm making up for the lack of weight loss! I'm on day 14. MOst
people are up to 13 or 14 pounds (or more) by now.
I'm still stuck on nine. Yeah, yeah, the book says middle aged women
might lose more inches than pounds <gasp, am I middle aged?? can't
be.. but I'm only 49 - my nine year old and these detoxes keep me
young!> anyway - back to what I was saying. I've been trying on this
dress everyday to see if it is fitting any better. The dresses
indications are no better than the scale. :( But I will persevere.
I'm really happy to be off the sugar. Before I started I was
serioulsy addicted - sugar and fast food. So, breaking those habits
will be worth it. PLus - all the declittering - what can I say? I
could have "paid" someone to do all this so I am happy. Goodwill is
happy, my house is happy and the company I have coming at the end of
the month will be happy.

Hang in there Phil - it does get better.

Kathleen -

I totally agree with the coffee enema! I am not a big coffee drinker and I cut the recipe in half and have so much energy! It's a bit over-jittery for me, but I'm still zinging around like a squirrel! You are 49 and have a nine-yr old?! wow....I'm 43 and could not imagine having a three year old. My baby is 19, and that's about all i can handle right now. I love your dress yardstick! After nine pounds, it must be fitting better than two weeks ago, right?! I have so many 'skinny' clothes vs. fat clothes...every time i lose weight and i buy new clothes, i think man, i hope these don't end up in the other closet with my "i can't fit them right now" stuff. A little defeatist, but I have a lifelong history of finding and losing 15 pounds. I'm short, but i like to eat like a linebacker so i either need to sign up for the Bronco's or check myself - fool! :)

Have fun with the garage!

Thank you to everyone. These comments definitely help.

My story isn't that interesting actually. I don't have that much
weight to lose. It's more of an overall health thing for me. And a
jumpstart to a little healthier lifestyle. The detox has been hard,
but the advice I've gotten from everyone here, the encouragement and
some wise words from my wife have really really helped.

I'm still considering breaking the detox and starting maintenance
sometime this week. But I'm waiting to decide. I'll continue to post
my experience.

Phil,
I hope you haven't broken the detox yet. I've just begun my second
one. The first time I broke the detox after 8 days and I regret it.
This time I am committed to making it happen: 21 days!
My only suggestion is that if you feel you need to break the detox do
it right. I went back to eating crap food immediately after and felt
sick. Follow Dr. Roni's instructions and ease back into food. Raw
salads, then maybe steamed veggies, then maybe grains, beans...or
whatever.

Good luck and congratulations on beginning a healthy lifestyle!
