Preliminary Program & next meeting (7/21)

Hello all,

I just spoke with Susan and they are finalizing the preliminary program.  There were a couple of things I wanted to finalize. 

1)      Attached is the list I have of active members.  If you don’t see your name (or see that I’m missing someone else) let me know.  If you are just starting with the group, but promise to be active in the future let me know and I can add you as well. 

2)      We wanted to include information about finding parking more affordable than the hotel rate ($40 a day I think).  We could include a link to http://www.philapark.org/locator/.  Is this the best source to help people find more affordable parking or is there something better to include? We may also call out the lots below as alternatives. 

3)      All members of the conference committee are encouraged to help get the word out to potential sponsors. Along with the official sponsorship brochure, there is a 2-page Sponsor and Partner Organization Outreach sheet to guide committee members as they reach out to sponsors and a blog post on the APAPASE blog. WE ARE BEHIND IN TERMS OF FUNDRAISING.

4)      The next meeting is Monday, July 21 at 5:30 at TRF (1700 Market St, Philadelphia PA) or call in to 1-866-245-0351. Let me know if you have additions to the attached agenda.  You can also get a jump on selecting the next meeting at http://bit.ly/2014ConfAug.

Specific parking suggestions (Thanks to John Federico)

The rates for this private garage seem really low ($15 for 24hrs), especially during the week ($5 for 24hrs).  It's located about a 1/4 mile walk from the hotel, but it's a really nice walk up 2nd Street and through the Society Hill Towers - almost a tour in itself!

 

PPA AutoPark @ Old City (125 S. 2nd Street)

I think this is the closest garage - only a block up 2nd Street, on top of the Ritz Theatre - but the rates are significantly higher ($19 for 24hrs).  There are also a few surface lots nearby that may be options.
