I'm having trouble with uploading the latest zipped file onto the
Google Group. It used to work OK, but now all you get when you try to
download it is an "empty page". I could just upload each file
seperately, but that would be pretty tedious all round.

Can anybody out there help?

Ian, looks like something funny is going on.  I cannot download the previous zip you uploaded anymore, although I did when it was originally uploaded.

I'll be interested to see what the new changes are.  We played a half game about a week ago, but abandoned it because of the late hour and due to unfamiliarity.  My impression is that there is a "right" way to play the game (start minors/majors at specific times) and deviation from this puts the player behind.  There were enough times that we were just short of buying a minor or extra share that were critical that the game felt off.  I think with repeated play, these things would come back to me.

Ian,

I've just tried a couple of experiments. I've put a picture into a zip
file, into a rar file. rar is another type of file compression program,
zip by another name and company. I then uploaded the picture, the zip
file and the rar file. The picture itself is there, but neither the
zip nor the rar files can be found.

Maybe not a lot of help, but it seems to be something at GoogleGroups
not ackling properly and not you being silly. I'd suggest asking
GoogleGroups for guidance.

I'll leave those three files there for the moment, and will remove them
when you wish.

Cheers for now,

I've looked at the discussion forum for Google Groups and apparently the files section is notoriously unreliable, especially for large files. What they suggest is attaching the file to an email - hopefully it should be attached to this....

Hi Scott,

There seems to be a consensus, amoungst the playtesters that I play with, that you need to start a minor in SR1 and another minor in SR2. Therefore, you need to spend no more than £95 on privates, and buy in most/all of them in OR1-2 to get to the key minimum of £110 in SR2. The small size of the game, and the minimal start capital, reduces the options early on compared with other games.
