This Group, sponsored by the USFSPA Liberation Support Group (ULSG, LLC) , supports the rights of all military service members, active-duty/retired/Guard & Reserve military members, Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service, and Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in challenging the Uniformed Services Former Spouses’ Protection Act (USFSPA), PL 97-252, 96 Stat. 730 (1982), currently codified as amended at 10 U.S.C. § 1408.
This site was established to post correspondence exchanges between military veterans and their state and federally elected officials as well as inform veterans about The USFSPA. Military veterans are requesting Congress review the Uniformed Services Former Spouses Protection Act (USFSPA) enacted in 1982 because the law is outdated and has become obsolete and unnecessary. A critical review would indicate its repeal is warranted. This federal divorce law pertains only to uniformed military personnel, not to any other government branch, agency or department. Replies from Congressional officials will more often than not portray an indifference and neglect of concerns of the military veteran. Yet, in that elected officials have sworn an oath to support and defend the nation and the interests of the armed forces, they must be held accountable to this trust and responsibility.
