Hello 091 :)

I'm sure some of you may be aware that recently the Galway Gaming Group was s et up as a physical manifestation of the Galway Game Developers Group on Facebook.
So far we have had ~monthly meetings around the NUIG campus. Considering though that this venue doesn't suit everyone as most members aren't even from the college we would love to move the meetings to a new venue(091 hopefully)

Here are my questions and requests:
Can we meet at 091 Labs monthly?
Some of our members are 091 members and I probably will become a member soon too(too busy most of the time :( )
How much should we reimburse you per meeting(I was thinking 2€ per guest, given that we have ~60 members, maybe 20-30 will show up, but whatever you think is the norm)
How do you feel about becoming our long term home?
Anything we can do for you?

Thanks in advance lads :)

Hi Liam

The groups sounds great and calling 091 Labs home should not be a problem ether.
There are already a lot of people into or appreciation of Game development here and group like yourself will should get a lot fo interest.
If you would like to come by the space and talk about details that would be great.

Hey Liam,

Basically the same as what Conor said =P

That sounds great and I don't think there'll be any problem so you should drop eve...@091labs.com an email so Shane can doublecheck for you.

While the game dev side of programming isn't my thing I'd love to attend some time when it's happening and see what it's like =)

Some handy info for you would be that we recently changed how we deal with external groups.

It was previously set up that there was one of the leads would be paying a membership (so that we don't have to have a member volunteer to look after a recurring external event, it tended to be the same people a lot) and the external group also paid a weird 'kinda-member' membership.

People thought that was fairly crap as weekly events were being charged the same as monthly, and that members who were already supporting the space were basically getting charged again for using it, so we had a meeting where about 25 members and some external people turned up and we changed it up.

So now we still need at least one person running it to be a member or become one, but we only charge for use on the night. So for any non-091 Labs attendee, we charge:

 2 per hour for 1 - 5 attendees,
 4 per hour for 6 - 10 attendees,
6 per hour for 11-15 attendees,
 etc,

so if you have 30 people turn up that'd be 10 per hour.

We don't charge an event for 091 Labs members who attend (in the hope this also encourages more people to become fellow members) and if the group has their own charge I *believe* we assume that if our members want to attend, then they're willing pay what the group was asking.

If you have any other questions, just ask =)

All the best,
Padraic

Thanks Padraig,

Darn, I didn't make it down last Tuesday and aint in town today, I guess I will have to organise this via email. Once I have decided on a date I should email Shane yes?
And about the fee, would we be able to get a receipt for that, that way my funding from the college could cover an costs.
Thank you for all the info :)
Also we aren't all about development but try to cover all aspects of making games, there are a few artists and musicians in the group too.

-Liam
