Hi all,
Just a reminder Python classes will be going on this Monday 8-10, please
let me know if you're planning on coming and what your experience is so
I can have the necessary material ready if needed.
Depending on the numbers (e.g. if they're low), I'll also be putting a
blog post up on the website letting people know the about the classes,
cost, etc.
I'd also be interesting in knowing what people actually want to learn
from coming to these classes. (Do you want to make scripts, tools,
pygame, websites, etc?)

That's good. For people who know Python I think the best thing to do is
either project Euler questions with the group, help beginners out, or
work out a project they'd like to get started on. I've suggested things
like a url shorteren or a pastebin using Flask, which would be a good
starting point for someone feeling comfortable with Python I think.

I should be there too, also quite confident in Python. I'd be
interested in doing some functional programming (Not pure, but using
lambda, map, reduce, recursion to create tighter algorithms for stuff
like euler problems)

That's cool, people were doing Euler questions the last time so that
should be fine.
By the way anyone who's a beginner don't be frightened off because two
people are confident with Python, it just means more people that can
help you with issues that you may run into.
