[OT] An Open Letter to Sean Shannon

I originally posted this message to the Mr. Shannon's Delphi forum earlier
this evening. It took less than 2 hours for him to remove not only that,
but also all responses to it - which were all positive, by the way. Because
of this, I feel that the only fair and reasonable thing I can do is to post
this message across the internet and Usenet, and allow you, the reader, to
decide for yourselves. My suggestion would be to not only stop visiting his
site, but also to formally request that the current RSPW FAQ be renamed the
'Pro-wrestling FAQ,' and that RSPW be allowed to develop it's own FAQ that
pertains to the group. I would also suggest that any and all support,
mention, whatever, of Sean Shannon - well known racist, misogynist, and
chickenshit that chose to flame me (he doesn't even KNOW me) behind my back
on his own bully pulpit be ended here. I've read his board - it's about 85%
marks and 15% intelligent people trying to find a reasonable place to
discuss pro-wrestling.
An addendum to my original message, as below: Mr. Shannon, you are the
world's biggest chickenshit. You had every opportunity to speak to me like
a man, and instead you chose to be a pussy. You got all these guts to talk
shit behind my back, but you can't even bother to let me talk back, let
alone engage in an adult conversation with you on the matter. You suck,
bud, and you suck BAD. YOU called ME out. Here I am, and you can't even
let my words stand. Well, I've got news for you, Mr. Shannon. Your little
delphi board may be a refuge for the terminally weak of heart, those that
cannot be bothered to address their own shortcomings, a place where you can
dictate what is said, and when, and how, but the rest of the internet is
NOT. You may be able to work yourself into thinking that someone cares
about you by eliminating any dissenting opinion from your dark little hole
of the universe, but I assure you, Mr. Shannon, you will NOT censor me
anywhere else. Welcome to my hell, Mr. Shannon.
Oh, and Mr. Shannon:
I was the one that got the NWWWO site pulled.

Before I get too involved, let me state clearly: I expect this message to
be displayed and not pulled or edited. Sean Shannon has seen fit to flame
me behind my back and indeed without my knowledge, and this is my response
to that. I would like very much for this to be an amicable discussion.
However, if I am censored, I will post this message in full to every
wrestling website and discussion group I can find, I will NOT post your url
and 'put you over' with 'heel heat' (you wish) like some of your detractors
have done. I have my ways of dealing with things, and let's just leave it
said that you would be much better off allowing the discussion to continue
here, rather than forcing me to take it elsewhere.
It has recently come to my attention that someone here, apparently Mr.
Shannon, has seen fit to mention my name in some sort of derogatory manner.
Unfortunately, since this is the first time I have EVER visited this site, I
not only had no knowledge of this, but also have no way to have GOTTEN any
knowledge of this until well after the fact. One of the things that was
quoted as being said about be was "I might brag about the women I get, but
it doesn't count since they look like Mae Young."
I find this rather disconcerting. I voted for the moderated RSPW group, and
for Scott Keith to be a moderator. I have never had heat with Scott, that I
am aware of, in fact we had a number of very interesting discussions (not
always agreeable, but civil at any rate, and generally on-topic) when he was
still posting to RSPW. I have never had a personal issue with Scott Keith.
Sean Shannon, I don't even KNOW you. I'm aware that you may have been, at
one time, involved with something called the NWWWO, which I recall as a site
I visited once, many many moons ago, and found replete with markish
nonsense, racial, ethnic, and sexual slurs, and generally written poorly and
in bad taste. In short, you have, throughout your 'career' as an internet
wrestling commentator, been completely beneath my notice. I'm not sure what
your point was in bringing me into your silly little dicksize contest was,
other than an attempt to draw cheap heat. I'm not sure why you thought it
necessary to come to the #rspw chatrooms several nights ago, crowing about
how 'every time you hit my site, I get paid,' and 'I'll have you all
TOSsed.' And to be honest, I don't much give a damn. You're welcome to try

I think you'll find that my ISP is far less willing to censor reasonably
stated opinion than you are, sir.
What I *do* give a damn about are a select few things:
1) that you flamed me behind my back, when I've never said anything to you,
or about you. If you don't like me, or the persona that I have projected
online, that is well within your right: frankly, I think it speaks volumes
about my ability to draw attention that someone I've never so much as heard
of outside a Matt Cleary flame on RSPW has formed an opinion about me, but
whatever.
2) It's true, I've had more than my share of female companionship in my
time, and the vast majority of it has been of the 'drop-dead gorgeous'
version, however, I generally don't even play that card, and why you would
mention it is a mystery to me. BUT, the fact does remain that I happen to
love one of those 'Mae Young lookalikes' very much, and I'll thank you to
keep your damn mouth shut about her, as well as anyone else I've dated. You
don't know a damn thing about any of them, and you don't know a damned thing
about me, beyond the persona that I have chosen to project online. Now I
could sit here and make speculations all day long about how you are probably
an overweight, semi-literate product of incestual relations with 8 rows of
very yellow teeth, 6 fingers on each hand, the intelligence and writing
skills of a box of rocks, the personal magnetism of quasimodo, and a sex
life consisting of a stack of LPWA tapes, a bag of cheetos, and an orange
dick, but I'm not going to do that. Because frankly, I don't much care,
beyond this missive.
3) If you want people to visit your site, Sean, I have a few suggestions
that you might fine useful:
a) don't be such a dick. Everything I've heard about you has been
negative
b) try writing some intelligent commentary on professional wrestling
c) stop trolling mark madden. How f'n ridiculous is that? The guy got
a spot, he's a GREAT heel (as evidenced, partially, by YOUR dislike of him),
and he deserves congratulations. He's certainly no worse than Kevin Kelly,
Sean Mooney, Missy Hyatte, and a million other half-assed color commentators
I've seen over the years. Sorry that he left your board, but he's obviously
got a better opportunity to exercise his considerable talent in much
higher-profile ways. Deal with it and get over it.
d) try being a little less bitter and resentful of people that are
doing well. concentrate on how to make YOUR life positive and enjoyable,
instead of worrying about what Mark Madden or John Henry is doing.
concentrate on increasing YOUR knowledge of the business, and your
appreciation for it, rather than these bitter, hate-filled rants here, on
the #rspw chatroom, and wherever else anyone will let you hang your hat.
Don't be so damn negative all the time. It's a wonderful world out there,
and you're missing it.
e) if you want to talk smack about me, at least have the cojones to do
it to my FACE, where I will actually SEE it. If you would like to discuss
this live and in person, you can find me on room #rspwchat, on the same
server as #rspw, most nights. It may take you a couple of tries to get in,
as the 'security' there is rather tight (to keep many of the same idiots
that are participating in this 'RSPW Invasion,' which I personally think is
a damned joke, out of the room sot hat intelligent discourse may be had),
but I assure you that if you try a couple of times in succession, you will
get in. If nothing else, type "/msg Mr_420 add me to the access list,
please" in your MIRC status window.
4) I've turned down women that would laugh in your face if you asked to buy
them a drink. For the record. And no, I won't provide pictures. Some of
these women are online and active members of the wrestling fanbase, and they
don't need the heat....and I'd hate to be responsible for you ruining your
keyboard.
5) If you're looking for heat, here it is, please enjoy it for all it's
worth...which isn't much.
6) This is not a matter of some silly-assed 'rspw invasion.' I don't even
post there anymore to speak of, and only rarely lurk, usually when I've been
told that some classless twit like Tony "I'm a pedophile and that's
okaaaaay!' Gancarski starts spreading lies, such as he's had the guts to
introduce himself to me. There are a select few people there that I count
as my friends to one degree or another, the rest can go to hell for all I
care. And anyone that would attempt an 'invasion' of a newsboard needs
serious psychiatric help.
7) Like it or not, Mr. Shannon, I'm a part of this business. Most people
are familiar with the OmegaPowers (http://omegapowers.tripod.com a
non-profit site), and with my involvement in the hottest indy fed in the
southeast, Southern Championship Wrestling, over the last couple of years.
I know what goes on in the locker rooms, I know who the boys have respect
for, and the fact that you are not only not respected, but not even
RECOGNIZED by anyone that I've ever talked to in this business may be
painful for you, but it is the truth. Please cease your delusions of
adequacy immediately, as it is most unbecoming a self-appointed member of
the fourth estate.
8) Please leave me, my sex life, and everything else out of your silly
little prick-waving contests. I have no interest in you, no interest in
your opinions, your website, your message board, your preferences in
wrestling, your videotape collection, your supremely uninformed opinions on
professional wrestling, or your efforts to garner cheap heat for this dump
by trolling me while my back is turned. If you want to make this board
something that intelligent wrestling fans have an interest in, please - do
your best to emulate Bob and Dave. They know what they're doing.
9) If you hate RSPW that much, I heartily suggest that you take the RSPW FAQ
off of your site, and indeed, that you ask Mr, Keith to relinquish his
duties as the maintainer of that FAQ - I also ask that you remember that I
was one of the most vocal supporters of his assuming responsibility for it
in the first place. Again, nothing against Scott, who I have NO problem
with, but really, it makes no sense to have our FAQ held hostage by a guy
that claims to hate the newsgroup.
10) Next time you want to get into a 'who's the bigger dickhead' contest
with someone.....don't do it with a guy called NetBastard. That's just f'n
stupid.
I trust, Mr. Shannon, that I will not have to speak to you on this matter
again. Your words and actions have caused genuine pain to people you don't
even know, good people who are far above the likes of your ignorance. If
you would like to discuss this with me mano-y-mano, you are welcome to do so

Pete, you do realize that doing this sort of thing pretty well validates
everything DeJong has ever said about you, right? You just want to be him.
Here's something I've learned - It's a lot more than a name. It's a way of
writing, and a way of thinking, and a way of acting. It's being proud of
who you are, unafraid of stating your opinions in the face of unpopular
responses, and just self-parodying enough to have no compunction about
coming off like a real psycho when the opportunity arises. It's about
believing in who you are, and not backing down from assholes like Stink, or
you. It's about taking something that could be said in one sentence, and
stretching it to 50K just to over-belabor a point. It's about being who you
are, and not backing down from what you believe in, while still having the
intelligence to be able to change your mind.
It's about lots of - dashes - and super-run-on sentences, and *asterisks*
and CAPITAL LETTERS to make emphasis. It's about having no tolerance for
intolerance. It's about being studly without rubbing it in. It's about
intelligence, character, honor, and integrity. I used to sit here and
wonder why people like Chad or Mattie and others marked for JH, and then I
realized, because he's got the balls to be who a lot of us wish we could.
It's too bad for him that in the end, some of the people here proved to be
such poor losers. Like you, for instance.

enjoy his writing style and the fact that so many of you are so completely
fascinated with the man. I mean, that takes SKILL and WORK. Looking at his
recent rants directed at Sean Shannon, I see a man that is extremely adept
at merging many styles of flame, from the basic ad hominem mother joke to
some very insightful and valid criticisms of Mr. Shannon, his attitudes, and
the way he does things. and on top of all of that, at one time, DeJong was
