On Saturday i was in #rspw when "Someone" asked offhandedly why i
didn't have my Nick registered. Honestly, i never thought much about it
b/c i figured i would be one of the last people anybody would want to
steal a nick from. Anyway, one of the Ops, who shall remain
anonymous(sp) as will the perpetrator of this incident, was trying to
help me reg. my nick. At the time, he was using my name since beforehand
i had got diconnected from being on-line and when i came back in the
room i was known as ph7671. Well, the Op told me to disconnect and
reconnect and re-enter the room, then reg my nick and reg a password for
that nick. I did as he said but i was too late. By the time i had
re-entered the room the person who originally had pointed out that my
nick was not registered registered "ph767" in their name. The person was
kicked out of the room for this but the Op who was trying to help me had
a somewhat lengthy ?msg conversation with the person trying to convince
them to give me the password so that i could have my nick back.
Eventually, the person conceded to let me have the nick, this time. Next
time, the person said, the nick belongs to them. Well, after a lot of
hassle, i got the nick registered and i am the only one on the access
list and who knows the password. Some are trying to say that this person
said they were only trying to scare me into convincing me that it is
neccessary to reg my nick. I don't buy it however, based on the simple
fact that the Op who helped me get the nick back showed me the log of
the conversation between the two which made it plain as day that that
excuse was clearly not the reason.
So, i would advise everyone to reg. their nicks b/c there is no
telling what kind of trouble could be caused if someone gets to a nick
that you use in there first. It has happened before, and if someone is
so desperate as to want my nick, then yours may not be safe either.

were systematically hunted down and set to
k-lines by the IRCops. The regulars allowed one
rogue op to control them all, allowed the op to
whine and piss and moan until the IRCops just
got tired of hearing him and banned the nicks.
That op was Chad, and after he had my nicks
k-lined, he waited and then when they expired
(since I could not use them), he registered them
to himself to prevent me from ever using them
again.
Well, fuck you #rspw. You watched me get my
nicks banned and then stolen, and it was all
OK for Chad to do. Now that the trolls have
done it to someone Chad likes, it's a major
fucking crime. You're all a bunch of hypocritical
shits, and you all deserve what's coming to you.
May #rspw rot in it's own shit, the shit that it let

You all could have left me alone, we had an
agreement. Everything was fine until Chad got

This shows you really don't know dick about what happened that night.
The channel #rspwtwo was registered under one of my nicks. Therefore that
makes the channel mine. Cracked password? Pete used the same password when he
registered the channel that I used when I registered my nick (Pete isn't too
good with passwords).
Nothing was stolen. I was allowing you guys to use my channel, then I changed
my mind and decided I didn't want you in there anymore.

against me, most of this could have been
avoided. Most people realize that I have been,
and can be, quite normal in the room. However,
I don't appreciate being banned from the IRC
room because someone didn't like a post I made
to RSPW. The problem was not the trolls, the
problem was King Chadlee being unable to
separate the NG from the room.

the primary consideration and in fact would never have been mentioned

seem to remember being fired form anywhere after that, or before. I've
quit some jobs, but in reality, since ncsu, I've worked in three
different companies - a financial division of General Electric (an
eight-week y2k changeover project that I not only completed but was
voted by my supervisors and peers to receive a Distinguished Employee
Award - including Certificate Stating SuchT *and* a cash bonus - for), a
short assignment at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business moving
and upgrading several machines (processors and memory) that lasted about
a week, also worked from start to finish on the contract, and the last
one, at a company that essentially assembles mass orders of customized
machines from large manufacturers - in this case IBM; this job, I worked
for about a week and walked off of because it was an assembly job,
rather than an actual technician job, and I'm not much for assembly
work; it bores me and consequently I don't work my best - I felt like I
was ripping the place off, so I went to lunch one day and didn't go
back. Should be noted that there's nothing wrong with the job, per se,
I just didn't like it. As it happened, my daughter was coming down for
a couple of weeks at about the same time, so I decided to take some time
off to be able to spend as much as possible with her. My next
assignment is at a big health-care concern (never mind which one),
temp-to-perm, $15.50 an hour to start through the agency and if I get
hired on permanent that goes to at least $20 an hour. In the two weeks
I had off, I also managed to get A+ certified, which only served to
boost my own marketability.
All of these jobs have been through the same agency, and the *only*
complaint I've had is that I walked off that one job, rather than giving
them time to find a replacement. However, I wasn't doing much anyway,
so it really wasn't much of a loss to them, IMO, and the bottom line was
simply that I felt like I was stealing form the place - I wasn't into

I've gone, in about 3 months, from $8.70 an hour to $15.50, and there's
no reason I'll ever make *less* than that again. Cool thing about the
new job is that it's an assistant administrator position - meaning that
most of the actual *work* is done by people working under me. I will be
making training, purchasing, and programming decisions, mostly, although
given that I *do* enjoy troubleshooting and tech work, I'm sure I'll get
my hands dirty more than once.
Not terribly bad for a) a high-school dropout (I was bored and had a
chance to tour, so I passed my GED tests at 16 and then ran around the
country laying rock star until the State of Michigan would let me claim
the damn thing; they refused to let me 'graduate' in that fashion ahead
of my class), b) a guy that was living on the streets a year ago, or c)
a longhaired hippie that don't exactly fit in to a traditional corporate
structure. Apparently, my employers have decided that my considerable
talents are a big enough asset that a haircut isn't that big a deal to
them.
And in all that time, you've done what, boy? Sat on your ass, locked in
your hole watching the world go by and wishing you were a part of it,
tried like mad to impersonate me at various websites, bitched and moaned
about me, Chad Bryant, and Mike Palij, and generally made an ass of
yourself. And don't give me any shit about how cool you are becuase
you've got all this money you didn't have to work for - anyone with a
shred of class or self-respect knows that money you *earn* is always
more satisfying than something that's just handed to you - blood money
from your dead sister, who your drunken recluse of a mother still wishes
you were.
