She was the dau of Sir Kenneth Raymond PELLY MC (1893 - 1973), scion of the baronets of that name (descended from 5th son of the 1st baronet), and Elspeth Norna GRANT (died 1978).

She m 1945 Robert George MALLOCH BROWN (died 1967), and had issue: George Mark (born 1953), was cr 2007 Baron MALLOCH-BROWN (LP)
