to LAStools - efficient command line tools for LIDAR processing

Hi everyone,

Eetu asked me to tell you about this new data set by forwarding you this message.

Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI, former Finnish Geodetic Institute) has made a TLS point cloud time series collected with FGI HSL available for public download. The dataset includes 30 *.laz files collected over one day in Finland plus a documentation file. The whole package size is about 230 MB.

The point count in each file is somewhere between 1 to 2 million points. Each point in the point clouds carries 7(+1 noisy) intensity values in it.
The link to the time series data:

The actual download link is in the middle of the page. More details about the data are in the included documentation.

The dataset should make a nice teaching material for a class, testing material for classification algorithms, and hopefully encourage scanner manufacturers to consider developing new multi-wavelength TLS systems.

Cheers,
