I have thought that I might have very slight Asperger's syndrome. But I
guess I just have a male brain. I like to think I have the empathy to
understand people with Asperger's syndrome quite well though.

My Auspie score was 99.
My neurotypical score was 96.

According to them, I have traits from both [grin].

The interesting thing was that looking at the questions, some of them
I'd have to answer in a more Auspie manner if I hadn't developed/had
to develop social skills through things like my job and other
activities -- which I did by learning simple social rules that let me
get my foot in the door, so to speak.

Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 86 of 200
You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

So am I an aspie or not?

Some of the questions listed were true of me in the past but no longer
at the present, and vice versa. What I didn't like the most was how to
quantitatively distinguish the given choices. I'm very open to the
possible results of diagnosis but the quiz could have been written
better.

Your Aspie score: 78 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 100 of 200

If I took the test when I was 20, I would have scored much, much
higher. Medication has changed my brain for the better, and also
allowed me the chance for more social interaction to better my skills.

I'm also hearing about Fragile X Syndrome in the news... that sounds a

You have already told us this before, SS. Many times in fact you have
mentioned being an aspie.

Its just one more reason why I cannot understand why you seem to think
you "know it all", when its clear that you have much less experiences
in life then many of the others here, including myself, a non-aspie,
do.

Yes: I admit to my defects and deficiencies - which is a indication that I can
be honest and forthright about myself - and this test lends some substance to that
speculation.

When was the last time that YOU YOURSELF admitted to any defect or deficiency?

>Its just one more reason why I cannot understand why you seem to think

>you "know it all", ...

I don't know what gives you the impression that I seem to think that I "know it all"
- so I surmise that it's another part of your own delusion.

I don't and never did "know it all" - and I've posted CONSISTENTLY that I'm
never certain of anything - as it's one of the most basic philosophies by which
I live my life: "Nothing is certain, and anything is possible."

... and reality - as well as the future - should be viewed in probabilistic terms.

It was something that I featured prominently on my website.

> ... when its clear that you have much less experiences

>in life then many of the others here, including myself, a non-aspie,

If you'd bothered to do any research on the matter, you'd know that Asperger's
Syndrome has nothing to do with cognitive abilities - but with social abilities
- so you flaunt your ignorance yet again within this group. That I'm not able
to function proficiently within social situations has nothing at all to do with my
cognitive abilities. AAMOF, a lot of "Aspies" are usually noted for their "nerdish"
intelligence - there is often some correlation.

Once again: Experience means nothing when you don't learn from it - as you've not
learned anything from yours - as you've proven with most of the posts that you've
made to this group.

A recent example from another thread:

This is exactly what I meant by your inability to learn from your experiences
(as I mentioned in my other post that I just made within the "Idealistic Update"
thread).

With your response to this obvious troll, you've suggested to him/her that
she/he should commit suicide, which makes it apparent enough that she/he has
agitated you with her/his post - which was his/her objective all along: You've
done exactly what the troll wanted you to do - you've responded with rancor
- belying your annoyance - you've fed the troll.

People who have been posting to Usenet for as long as you have usually gain
the savvy to recognize a troll when they see it - they learn about trolls eventually
- and they learn that the worst thing that they can do (from the troll's
perspective) would be to ignore it - yet you've dimwittedly fed the troll.

You simply can't learn - as you don't have the capacity.

Too bad for poor, ol' Hardpan.

One thing that you can't seem to comprehend is that any claims to having any
personal attributes (such as "experience") doesn't mean a damn thing if you can't
make rational observations and posit well-reasoned positions. IOW: Making any claims
to having superior "experience" doesn't give you any credentials - no automatic
credence WRT anything that you post to this group - sorry.

I can understand the reasons WHY you would want to make it somehow relevant,

The Lake --A poem by Edgar Allan Poe

IN spring of youth it was my lot
To haunt of the wide earth a spot
The which I could not love the less --
So lovely was the loneliness
Of a wild lake, with black rock bound,
And the tall pines that tower'd around.

But when the Night had thrown her pall
Upon that spot, as upon all,
And the mystic wind went by
Murmuring in melody --
Then -- ah then I would awake
To the terror of the lone lake.

Yet that terror was not fright,
But a tremulous delight --
A feeling not the jewelled mine
Could teach or bribe me to define --
Nor Love -- although the Love were thine.

Death was in that poisonous wave,
And in its gulf a fitting grave
For him who thence could solace bring
To his lone imagining --
Whose solitary soul could make
An Eden of that dim lake.

Asperger's syndrome is Autism in pure form, without retardation and it
IS a male brain (albeit an extreme version of it). Both males and
females with Asperger's are smarter than Neurotypical females
(everyone knows a woman's brain is smaller and they score lower on
intelligence tests, no offence Neurotypical ladies, but it's a fact!)

Both males and females with Asperger's are also very honest and
trusting which makes them come across gullible and vulnerable which is
why they are bullied a lot.

If Neurotypical males more often than not bully Autistic males because
they come across "different", then you can imagine how Neurotypical
females are out to DESTROY! Autistic females. Because not only they
come across "different", they are also of "different species" (don't
gossip, don't lie, don't value materialistic crap, aren't obsessed
with their appearance at the expense of intellect ...e.t.c... making
Neurotypical females feel insecure and jealous.

All the women you see out there who are making careers for themselves
in the world of science, linguistics, technology, art and music are
Autistic (Asperger's). Neurotypical females aren't capable of
surviving in a Man's world! :-)) unless it's in a role of sexy intern
who sleeps with the boss ... LOL :-))))

No wonder they bully Autistic women! Women are pissed off at men for
making them second class citizens (but are too scared to rebel for
real). So when a "different" female appears acting as though she's
equal to a man - "normal" females see an extra competition and bully
her like their life depends on it!

It's fact. If you don't know it already - read on the subject! It's
well documented.

unnuanced views on law enforcement and history, "Hardpan" represents

It is a nice poem.

I have been thinking about the quiz. Perhaps it seems a little
directed by the quizzers presumptions of what makes up the qualities
of an Aspergers person. There seems to be a determination to define
people of certain qualities as sick. But that's not the point. Take
the photos for instance. If the photo had been of a dog instead of a
cat there would have been different reactions from those who prefer
cats or prefer dogs, because there are fewer people who love both
equally. I like cats, and although I generally like animals more than
humans, I am not particularly fond of dogs. Take the scene of a
crowded sports stadium- not my kind of place at all, ... but a
different kind of crowd, say in an art gallery, a crowded coffee bar,
or a music concert playing what looks like the type of music I like
would draw a completely different kind of response. If you don't like
certain kinds of looks on people, who is to judge that a blond person
is of more value than someone with darker hair or no hair at all.
Many people if they had grown up in an environment where those they
were surrounded with shared their personal values and preferences are
more likely to feel they can mix well with people and feel confident
in that sort of thing. Isn't there too much of an assumption that if
you don't share the dominant values and likes of the society you live
in, there must then be something wrong with you?

It depends on what you might consider "normal" to be.

Personally, I don't believe that there's any such thing.

I wouldn't worry about it too much - your score isn't anything that

I don't believe that we'd be considered "well" - so there's an element
of truth to it.

A person who is considered to be "sick" could have an illness ranging anywhere
from a head cold to terminal cancer - and I tend to think of "shyness"
in those same terms: Something that is very broad and wide-ranging in scope.

Dogs tend to be more "extroverted" in terms of personality than cats,
so that could probably account for the appeal (and I have a preference
for cats myself).

Isn't that the definition of a "misfit"?
