It's obvious I suspect to the majority of you that the remailing coward
is a technological dumbarse. One that clearly does not comprehend how
things work in the digital world.
I don't really know what it means by hide behind a nym, nor am I clear
on the IP thing it's complaining about; as various networks I posted to
usenet with certainly did expose the IP address being used at the time
for my link. Now, that may/may not have actually been mine at the time;
it depended on how I got online. No biggie, though.
The website (I had multiple sites, back then...) in question only
hosted the viruses I was responsible for having written, and, a later
site also hosted the SLAM ezines; I was a member of that group by then.
My site did not host anybody elses work, aside from the work of the
group SLAM in the ezines, and, that was much later.
Te half assed, poorly written comment is the remailers own personal
opinion. In the real world, the viruses I wrote *all* made wildlist.
Mind you, I'm not bragging about that, I'm simply stating a fact.
The urls to the site(s) were usually in my signature; not really a post
of their own announcing the site or anything. And, I only posted (as I
continue to do these days) in specific newsgroups.
I did invite others who were interested in the study/analysis of an
actual exe/com based file infector to visit the site(s) I ran at the
time and download disabled binaries with documentation. Occasionally,
one or more would even include semi-full source code; but, no
instructions for making a viable off spring as a result.
The remailer seems to overlook, at every opportunity, the fact that the
viruses I wrote and made available on my own website(s), were disabled
as downloaded from the site. The downloader had to take additional
steps to be able to do anything even remotely close to harmful with the
binary they downloaded. Nothing on any of the website(s) I hosted then,
or now for that matter, can harm you or your system simply by running
them.
I've never been arrested for anything related to the digital world or
the hardware/software involved in it. Those claims by the remailer are
infact, outright lies.
My only! involvement in the entire Melissa incident was that of
providing hardware and bandwidth to another group of individuals. I did
not maintain their site, I did not snoop on it's contents, I had no
access to it (granted, I had physical access to the machine running it;
but I didn't abuse that) other than that of a normal visitor.
I've never discussed the Melissa virus or anything else in an official
manner with the FBI. For that matter, I've never had a single
conversation in an official FBI capacity for ANYTHING at ANYTIME. Not
once. I've never disputed the fact that the FBI can acquire information
on account holders/user account data, either. That's another lie being
passed off by the remailing coward.
After the Melissa virus author was already identified and caught, I was
continuing to develop and release my own; contrary to what the remailer
claimed above. Toadie, and, Irok are viruses written during/after the
Melissa incident. So, once again, the remailer is making things up as
it goes. In other words, it's lying...again.
It claims it's here just to warn people about me, but, that's not
really the gameplan. Otherwise, it would stick to factual things and
remain on point while doing so. An intelligent and reasonable person
who's actually on a mission to protect others would want to be taken
seriously. The anonymous remailer hasn't demonstrated any real desire
for others to take it seriously. Instead, it demonstrates the maturity
level of a teenager and proceeds to flood newsgroups I've posted in
(ie: stalking me) with what amounts to slime.
