I'm pretty sure he does. When you hear the name "Tom Clancy" in TV
commercials (and you do), it's not about the books he wrote himself, and
not about books, anyway.
After all, writing books is considered something rather elitist these
days, so TC made corrections to his business plan to reach a broad,
paying, audience.
