Hi All,
I migrated from a Debian system to Ubuntu 22.04.LTS. The Boinc manager and client packaged with this release are 7.18.1+dfsg-4. After installation and starting the Boinc client the error msg. was "access to Var lib was not authorized". I added my user id to the Boinc group and changed the Boinc-client folder in etc from root being the group owner to Boinc. That corrected that problem, but the next msg. is "Boinc Manager (Pre-Release) is not able to start a Boinc client try again." Even after having the Boinc Daemon start at IPL the client and manager will not attach. If this is a Pre-Release why was it included in the Ubuntu Long Term Release distribution instead of current production release? I saw one other user on Ubuntu Redit having the same problem who after several try's to correct this error backed out of 22.04 and restored Ubuntu 20.04 and Boinc worked fine again. Any information on this issue would be appreciated. Cheers, Ace
