Is anybody else having trouble with internet this afternoon-evening;  I can do email, but not much else. 

 

I am using qwest/earthlink.

OK, joke aside, difficulties of the sort you are experiencing can be at a lot of different points on the net.

- Reboot both your quest modem and if you have one, your (wifi or ethernet) router.

- Reboot your computer.  If Windows, reboot twice.

- If you are comfortable with terminal use, use the "ping earthlink-i.car2.atlanta2.level3.net" command to see if earthlink hub server is up.

If reboots or the ping works, then you should be OK.  Otherwise, call quest or earthlink, which has proved least painful in the past.  Generally its the local modem/router that's the problem.
