Although not part of my development process, I've been reading about
various application and code testing techniques. After looking at basic
unit testing techniques, I was fascinated to read about Netflix's Chaos
Monkey after the massive Amazon AWS outages a few years ago. If you
rely on the cloud to provide services at the scale Netflix does, how
could you not take this approach.
The Netflix development team has their act together. Too bad the same
can't be said for their CEO and marketing team.

Netflix has just open-sourced its much talked about “Chaos Monkey”
software which intentionally takes servers offline as a way to test the
resiliency of a cloud environment. This is another in a long line of
internally developed tools that Netflix has chosen to freely share with
