Is Chromium OS optimized to run from flash media?

I received an older laptop out of which I removed the IDE hard drive
and put in a CF card using a CF-to-IDE adapter. I've installed Tiny
Core Linux on it and it's working great. But I'm really curious to try
Chromium, but I know it's best to minimize writes to CF cards (and
other flash media like USB drives).... more »

Hi there,
I'm learning Chinese, and I often use Chinese layout on my Chromebook.
But there is a problem with Chinese characters display. They are too
small to be comfortable for my short-sighted eyes. And I didn't find
any way to make default chinese font size bigger. The only way I can

Hello,
I'm currently trying to figure out a way to do the few things I still
have to do locally (most importantly, Eclipse) on Chrome OS. One
approach was X-Forwarding, followed by installing the applications

Unable to use backtick (`) in crosh/developer shell

I'm on a Samsung Chromebook (Chrome version info below). The backtick
key works in the browser, although I do have to press it twice to have
it output the character. The backtick key *doesn't* work at all in
crosh (ctrl-alt-t) or the developer shell accessed through crosh (ctrl-

I am running Chrome OS Version 20.0.1116.0 dev on a Samsung
Chromebook. It seems with the new update I can't access my Witopia,
MOCA or Hide My Ass private VPNs. Has anyone else run into this
problem? Is there a fix for this yet? Thanks!
