I definitely prefer vi, so thank you build team ;-]
If you are willing to leave a machine in dev mode, some enthusiastic
developers out there have added a bunch of pre-built packages that enhance
the usability of Chromium/Chrome OS. Todd Vierling started the trend
and Taylor LeMasurier-Wren picked things up where Todd left off. He
publishes versions of the packages as a shared Google Drive folder.

Here is the Google Groups thread discussing Taylor's work. I decided my
Cr-48 would be the always dev mode machine, and having some handy tools and
programs available is nice.

As mentioned in another thread, these do not touch the verified Google
build, but are simple pre-compiled packages you add via tar.
