Subject: How to perform name resolution and dns prepending?
[Third try, my first two post have not got to the list, apologies if
you
have read this before]

Hello,

I have switched my new Samsung Chromebook to developer mode. Yes!

Now I am trying to use the Google public DNS servers:
https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using#step3

I have edited resolv.conf as suggested but I have no name resolution.

There seems to be no 'dig' or 'nslookup' on the command line, even in
the advanced shell, which I believe is some form of restricted Bash.

I need to perform this command:
dig @8.8.8.8 www.google.com

How would I do that?

Thanks

In dev mode (not sure if it's made it to stable), the network
connector settings page allows you to specify custom DNS.

Wrench Menu->Settings->Internet connection->Click on connector (wifi
or ethernet)

Do you mean developer mode or developer channel? I am in developer
mode but stable channel and I don't have this.
