Just upgraded from Acer to Samsung Chromebook.  With the Acer I had offline access of all documents via Drive; however, such capability is gone when using the Samsung.  I tried to follow the instructions to allow for offline editing but nothing sticks.

Although I've discontinued use of the Acer I still have it hanging around in storage.  Would doing a powerwash on that unit restore offline capability or is it possibly another bug?

I have a Samsung and use it constantly and haven't had an issue with offline access. Making changes on the acer shouldn't matter, your settings are stored in the cloud...provided you have your profile set to sync across devices. I read you've tried some suggestions but can you provide some specifics? The first thing is to click on the gear icon while in Drive and make sure that it says Disable Offline. If it says that then you should be OK. But if not, did you go to the left side of the Drive screen, select More and then click on the Offline text. From there it'll walk you through it.

If you've tried all of that without success, reply back with what kind of errors and anything else you've tried. Perhaps someone smarter than I will have an answer.

Mystery solved, it was the other computer.  Seems you can't have two Chrome devices with offline access to the same Drive account.  Curiously, I could still access the files I had online in Drive but offline was a no-no in the second Chromebook.

Goofy, but apparently true.

That is good information to know. Thanks for the update.
