problems with harddisk install on a HP Mini

Hi,
This is probably the right group for the question ...
I've been testing Chromium OS recently on my HP-mini (running the
Dell-
version on a USB flash drive). It works great, big like!
Now I tried to install it on harddisk, but this does not seem to work.
I created 2 partitions, sda7 for C-ROOT and sda8 for C-STATE. I copied
the files using dd. I registered the system with grub.
When I start chromium first it shows the splash screen but then it
spools a lot of garbage and eventually hangs. From what I can see
there are problems mounting C-STATE which it seems to expect at sda1.
Any ideas?
