Do the hard drive files get deleted?

Hi, my name is Rushil and I have just downloaded Chrome OS from hexxeh.net. I want to make a bootable USB and have done that.

But know I want to know is the hard-drive files get deleted if I do that.

The hard drive files dont get deleted for booting from the USB, they only get deleted if you decide to install chromium from the usb to the hard drive and in order to do that you have to invoke specific commands from the shell after you boot, so it wont happen accidentally.
