Debug Script in Popup

I can't figure out how to step through my javascript code in the
default popup for a Page Action. I can inspect the popup but when I
try to invoke the script by clicking on the Page Action icon, the
inspection window closes (resets maybe?).

Any ideas?

With the developer tools open, try setting breakpoints and then hitting Ctrl+r (or apple-r on Mac?) to refresh the popup page.  You should hit the breakpoint and be able to start stepping through code.
