Old extension stuck in "pending review" and new extension cannot be updated. Help out a friend!

A friend of mine, who's unable to post in this group (li...@liorgrossman.com), encountered 2 severe problems with his crossrider-based browser extension:

The inline installation stopped working in his website (http://www.quickiwiki.com) all of a sudden, returning the following error in the callback: "Could not fetch data from the Chrome Web Store". His site is verified and inline installation was working perfectly fine for weeks before it stopped! What could be the cause?

Few minutes later, he changed the description of his (already published!) extension, and suddenly he got: "Your item has been submitted for publishing, but it has been flagged for manual review".

Problem is - it happened with his old extension, but the item was never reviewed to this day (see attached screenshot).

Now he cannot update his extension at all, and afraid he will never be able to.

Why was it "flagged for manual review" when he only changed the description?

Can anyone assist him in "unblocking" the extension and making sure this doesn't happen in the future?
