First statistics, now +1?

My extension Custom Google Background has steadily been increasing in users until about a week ago, when i gather from reading other posts the there was an issue with the statistics.  I read that they would update at some point, so that's fine.

However I checked my extension last night, where i had 1.5K +1's,  this morning, that had dropped to 1.2k, and now, just a few hours later it has dropped to 1k.

I find it really unlikely that users are actually deselecting this, since i haven't issued an update, and good reviews are still coming in.   Could this issue be related to the stats problem?  I imagined that the +1 service would be completely separate.

Anyone else noticed this problem?
