Programatically prompting to pin?

We have a new web app we are developing, it opens in it's own tabless
window and as such has no wrench to allow a user to visit the "Create
application shortcuts" dialog.
Is there any way through javascript to open that prompt or can you
think of any way to enable the wrench programatically?
