<3 chrome. its light weight, fast, crash friendly. c-os, awesome idea
- one problem. what about us pc-gamers with our ridiculously over
priced/powered computers? since c-os will be way lighter (<<--so
perfect for gamming) than windows. since nobody makes games for mac/
linux.. so us gamers r stuck on windows.. c-os can include gaming
mode. a windows emulator or possibly working with vmware or virtualbox
to create a specialized gaming environment without full windows
bogging us down.
a lil history.. not super important.. skip if ur mean. ><
truth is.. we pc gamers are dying out.. probably totally gone before
2020. more and more are moving to console adding to the already emense
community.. its simply, cheaper.. for lower quality gaming, ppl/
visuals/interface.. etc etc.. bah.. not gona go there.. thats all
imo.. anyway.. i’ve been playing pc games since i was 13.. doom..
first 3d quake.. quake2 on 56k <3 300pings =) .. eventually went on
to play competitively in counterstrike 1.5, 6, source. (the glory days
of cal/cpl). so i suck with a controller, i can admit it.. when i play
on my buddy’s xbox.. its embarrassing. i don’t expect some1 who used a
controller all their life to hop on pc and snap around with a mouse.
anyway, moving on.. when cod-mw2 pc tried to simulate the match making
system xbox use.. it confirmed that.. the future of gaming is console.
i just died a little saying that. way back when, some of the best
games were First made for pc. i.e. splintercell, quake, ut, c&c, war/
star craft.. etc etc.. i’m not saying console didn’t have great
games.. its just nowadays most new pc games r just cheap converts from
console. its depressing.. and the ppl.. these guys with their aim
assist and stupid thumb sticks have no idea what real gaming once was
(i stopped trying to argue). i think some of u already know where i’m
going with this. There hasn't really been a popular cross-platform
game yet. dunno y, seems like a pretty good idea.. too hard to
develop? dunno.. i’m not that smart.
my big idea!.. tada!
Google! chrome-os has the potential to create a the first cross-
platform gaming system, finally bridging pc to console unifying the 2
communities. its possible to create an interface between xbox & pc.
the games themselves would install and process on their original
platform.. or share resources with the more powerful machine.. (like a
vmware) making it easier for the software guys.. this way the user can
pick which inputs to use.. kb/mouse.. controller or some crazy thing
that hasn't been invented yet.. i mean ms makes xbox.. so the language
can’t be that different right? (again.. i’m not that smart)..
it could even have an option for only pc, hybrid pc+xbox, or only xbox
processing the picture/sound.. cus my comp way out specs xbox.. usb
for game+sound i/o .. hdmi for pic? lower end computers or netbook
users could hookup their xboxs to a tv and play w/ a controller, or
just to boost their comp. games could be bought online or in stores..
stored on pc/console/online.. valve’s steam for example, but make it
users choice when possible.. the design guys can finally apply their
creativity to make higher end graphics that, well, only pcs could
run :D (for now i mean).. those crazy dudes with their 120Thz 60core
whatever and 15 way sli/crossfire finally have a challenge? maybe in
1k years.. lol?
this may take some collaboration.. but this would get rest of the pc
crowd to buy xbox.. or ps3 (can’t forget about sony <3) which would
make both companies very happy. hardcore console players w/o computers
could buy a lil netbook to try a pc game.. blizzard is always
accepting new WoW addicts (and so are some rehab facilities). every1
is happy....
and for me + a couple friends.. haha.. we’d finally have the
opportunity to .. do some teaching.
google has always been about creativity, trying unique challenging
projects which have benefited people while pushing technology to a new
level. this could be the last chance to keep pc gaming alive. it would
also give console gamers the opportunity to play mmos and rts games
with kb/mouse.. top it off.. the light weight os really is the perfect
gaming system. who knows.. could even bring competitive gaming back..
now that there’s some competition ;)
side note for the not mean ppls.. i just wanted to write a short few
words. it actually came out a bit longer. took me about 4 1/2 hours to
cut it down so sounded kinda right.. (not that smart) .. i never
realized how important this topic really is to me. gaming has been a
huge part of my life since my youth. its a nerd thing i guess haha..
lame right?
