Hi All,

I've seen this on couple of websites, and read one article saying it was fake.

when we access a website or blog on chrome, we get a notification below the addressbar which informs us that there is an extension available for this website, and would you like to install it,

is it a real chrome feature or just a javascript trick ?

Greetings,
Dinsan

That's a javascript trick.

What do you mean by "Black/White"?

Chrome has no such feature. They simply created an image\HTML design that resembles\almost identical to the info bars used by Chrome, that is it.

is it a good thing to do ?
does it affect users in someway if they install it , or without installing it ?

It is simply a link to an extension, it is just a way to promote extensions. Neither good nor bad in itself (you still get a dangerous download confirmation and an installation confirmation), but it is confusing and misleading for users.

Correct. If it is from the extension gallery, there is no need for a dangerous download warning.
