Chrome for Android vs. Android Browser

Is there any official word on when (if ever) Chrome for Android will get more features from the stock Android Browser?  Especially:

- offline pages (for the times when I do not have a wi-fi or cell data connection)

- quick controls (easier access to controls on tablets; no need for space-consuming toolbars)

- history viewer (a non-web-based, or at least mobile-optimized version)

I love Chrome for Android for all its sync features, so I am not threatening to stop using it or anything, but I really miss these features.

Frankly, sorry for the rant, but I just hope it gets updated to a modern version soon. It is stuck at 18, stable desktop Chrome is now at 23. This is disappointing (and somewhat worrying, in terms of security).
