Hi,

almost each time I run gclient sync from my ~/chrome/src dir I get smth like the following:

Syncing projects:  64% (41/64)
________ running 'svn update /usr/local/home/avayvod/chrome/src/third_party/WebKit/WebKitTools/simplejson --revision 55033' in '/usr/local/home/avayvod/chrome'
At revision 55033.
Syncing projects:  65% (42/64)  Fetching origin

Your branch is behind 'origin/master' by 16 commits, and can be fast-forwarded.
Current branch master is up to date.
Checked out revision c51b4b0ac536538be8f4c6d85f773bfb2d982152.
Syncing projects:  67% (43/64)  fatal: Not a valid object name b71e10de
Error: git command merge-base returned 128

Sometimes it is solved be deleting the offending dir, sometimes by running gclient sync repeatedly several times. Still it's pretty annoying.
How could this possibly be fixed?

Thanks,
Anton.

Follow up: searching through the mailing list I found that object name b71e10de refers to the third_party/cros and deleting this directory helps a lot. Guess I was confused because of different paths logged right prior the error message which turned out to be the same each run. Still if this could be avoided completely, it would be welcome.
