Summary: This week we are pushing Canary releases from the 597 branch.
Background: I wanted to try an experiment to see if we could leverage Canary releases to speed our release branch stabilization process by using it exclusively for the release branch the first week in the life-cycle. Since the initial week of the release branch dev channel is when we merge in a considerable number of changes. Previously those changes would not see users before a full release had been blessed by QA and we could only do that at a max about 2 times a week. Since we can release the Canary everyday w/ out QA, it gives us an early indicator of the state of the branch during our period of the most aggressive change.
After this week we'll go back to trunk releases and focus on milestone 10.
