New issue 109583 by Weitzhan...@gmail.com: Search predictions won't work
until you reinstall Chrome!!!
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=109583
Chrome Version : 16.0.912.75
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari 5:
Firefox 4.x:
IE 7/8/9: OK
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Wrench->Options->Basics->Manage search engines
2. Copy the URL of the Google search engine to a new search engine, and
make it the default one.
3. Delete the original default search engine (that has the same URL that
now)
4. Search predictions doesn't work until you reinstall Chrome!
What is the expected result?
Should be able to alter the default search engine (adding query parameters
for instance) and retain search predictions.
What happens instead?
No search predictions until browser is reinstalled.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
Here is my desired search string:
{google:baseURL}search?hl=en&tbo=1&q=%s&prmdo=1
UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/535.7
(KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/16.0.912.75 Safari/535.7
There is no chance to fix this issue until Chrome is UNINSTALLED and
REINSTALLED.
Pain in the @$$!!!
The default search engine has to be customizable and still provide search
predictions (i.e. allowing user using google search engine but with some
specific query parameters).
I now tried to reinstall Chrome but it doesn't work WHAT THA
FFFF!?!?!?!?!?!?
Solution solved: uninstalled chrome and moved to IE, great browser with
