New issue 43481 by pipping.elias: flash crashes without ~/.mozilla/[..]
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=43481
Chrome Version (from the about:version page): 6.0.398.0 (Developer Build
46589)
Is this the most recent version: pretty much, yes
OS + version: Linux 2.6.33.3
CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): 64-bit
Window manager: awesome (under X11)
URLs (if relevant): none
Behavior in Linux Firefox: does not apply
Behavior in Windows Chrome (if you have access to it): no access
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Browse to a site like
http://www.colbertnation.com/full-episodes/
What is the expected result?
A video, flash not crashing
What happens instead?
Flash crashes
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot
and backtrace if possible.
The following files appear to be required for flash to run
~/.mozilla/firefox/<name of profile>.default/{cert8,key3}.db
If ~/.mozilla/ is missing, you'll end up with a (plugin) crash.
(nobody who has ever used firefox and not deleted ~/.mozilla since will not
hit this problem of course.)
