What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. play a video (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YE7VzlLtp-4 )
2. try to adjust the volume or mute using the volume keys, or try to adjust
using the tray controls


What is the expected result?

Sound volume goes up and down, mute works


What happens instead?

Visual feedback works, but actual volume doesn't change.
If I run alsamixer manually, no change seems to appear on either the CRAS
device or the physical device (HDA Intel PCH).


It has been failing for a few weeks for me. The only workaround is to go in
alsamixer and change the volume there.

I can't repro on Lumpy using 2299.0.0 (Chrome 21.0.1137.5).
