Hi,
I have an extension that adds a snipe button to ebay listings. Over a week
ago, I got an email telling me that my extension had been taken down from
the webstore for "impersonation". I would like to make it clear that I am
not intentionally trying to impersonate ebay nor snipestreet (the service
used to actually do the sniping), I even stated in the description that I
was not affiliated with either company. That being said, if anyone found it
misleading, I would be happy to change it to make it clearer for them.
The chrome webstore, however, did not ask me to change anything, they
didn't even bother to tell me what the problem was. They just said it was
in breach of policy for impersonation (along with a warning that if I do it
again my account might be banned!). How am I supposed to correct that for
them, when, as far as I am concerned, I am not impersonating anyone? Could
they not have said something along the lines of "In your description it
says [blah blah blah]. This is against our policy. please change it.". That
would be fine, I could change it and everyone would be happy. Instead I am
left wondering what I should do. I have tried emailing them several times
over the last week but I have just been ignored.
Since the extension was taken down I have lost over 300 weekly users. I
could just resubmit my extension for review without making any changes but
I am afraid that if I do that, they will just reject it and send another
vague email about impersonation or worse, ban my account altogether.
Can someone please tell me what I need to do to rectify this issue as
quickly as possible, I have worked hard to build up my user base and hate
to see it disappear over such a non-issue. As I say, I would be happy to
fix any problems they have with it.... if only they would tell me what the
problem was!
Regards,
